4 does down, 1 to go.
I have to say I've had a blast this season, and a huge reason has been doe harvests. I'm fortunate enough (or unfortunate enough, depeding on your management perspective) to hunt areas with a great deal of does. The last few years I've been filling as many tags as I can and encouraging my hunting partners to follow suit, and I have actually noticed a balancing buck to doe ratio as a result. The balanced ratio has made the bucks on my properties much more responsive to calling tactics, which provides me with more opportunities and sightings.
I took this gal in Washtenaw County, on a property I hadn't stepped foot on since Nov 15th. I saw 10 different deer in less than 2 hours of hunting. No pressure equals relaxed deer. Relaxed deer equals a full freezer!
There is still 3 more weeks of season to be had, so good luck to those still in pursuit!
